Gemma’s role at Synchronicity Earth includes overseeing the organisation’s six Conservation Programmes and its Research Team, as well as acting as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, helping to direct and grow the organisation.
Gemma has been committed to biodiversity conservation throughout her childhood, education and career. Prior to joining Synchronicity Earth, Gemma worked across a number of Synchronicity Earth’s conservation programmes working to develop their strategies, recruit partners and develop fundraising opportunities, including developing Synchronicity Earth’s Freshwater Programme from its inception, resulting in her developing a passion for this underfunded and overlooked area of the conservation sector. Before working for Synchronicity Earth, Gemma worked for TRAFFIC on wildlife trade issues. She has worked for a number of other governmental and nongovernmental groups focusing on conservation and has been lucky enough to have worked in different regions of the world on conservation issues, including parts of Africa, Latin America and Asia.
